Steamburg for Mac is an acclaimed puzzle adventure game featuring narrative exploration elements and a distinctive gameplay style. Developed by Telehorse, a steampunk gaming company, the game earned the Best Next Game award at the IMGA in San Francisco in March 2017.
In Steamburg, players assume the role of Professor Vincent Cornelius Moore, engaged in combat against invading robots in the city of Steamburg. The gameplay stands out due to its uniqueness: Vincent is unarmed, necessitating strategic movement choices. Armed only with small electric pumps, players can temporarily halt the robots’ progress by attracting them. Vincent must navigate the city streets in a manner that leads pursuing robots into Tesla coils, causing their destruction. While this may appear straightforward in initial levels, the challenge intensifies with the need to confront multiple robots simultaneously. As players progress, the robots become faster, some gain the ability to fly, and others react to each of Vincent’s movements.
