The video game Octodad: Dadliest Catch is about devastation, trickery, and parenthood. The user controls Octodad, a charming octopus dressed as a person, throughout his or her life. Octodad’s quest to survive is never-ending. He must conceal his cephalopod nature from his family while using his unbreakable boned tentacles to control common objects.
Our major heads in this follow-up to Octodad’s great blockbuster are torn between a growing mistrust of their wives and a dismal excursion to the neighborhood aquarium. Are you a father who can keep the name of an octopus father under control while attempting to keep the tangled tentacles intact?
The first Octodad was made public by a group of college students in October 2010. Despite the widespread belief that the game was about a regular human parent, it was a cult favorite, received favorable reviews, and placed as a student finalist at the 2011 Independent Games Festival. The crew gave Octodad enough consideration. They made the decision to launch a Kickstarter-style gaming firm called Young Horses and create a bigger, better, and more polished Octodad-based game. After two and a half years of development, Octodad: Dadliest Catch is now prepared to tumble awkwardly into the arm.
